Campfires and Full Moon Rides
Posted on 09 April 2013
Editors note: we sure miss Ali Hall, one of our finest employees and now apparently somewhere in Australia on some peripatetic spirit-quest. Besides being a joy to work with, Ali also ran a series of fantastic group rides over the summer of 2013, including campfires and a muddy ride in the Don Valley with three speed bikes (which we affectionately called "dutch cyclocross"). Hope all is well down under, Ali - we miss you!
FRIENDS! FELLOW CYCLISTS! SPRING TIME ENTHUSIASTS!Come over to our campfire and share in the excitement of the coming outdoor season. For realz! We have booked a campfire in Dufferin Grove Park, and we’ll be meeting at Curbside Cycle at 7:30 for a slow ride over there. Pack a thermos in your bottle cage, strap some grilling food to your rear rack, toss a blanket in your pannier* and come along! *none of these suggested items are required but we will certainly be enjoying the campfire while consuming grilled food and warm beverages, and it would be fun if you were too! Here’s how it will work: Thursday the 25th had better be clear. It’ll be a full moon, so it’ll be a great evening for a bike ride, though very likely quite chilly. Please be at the shop by 7:30 PM as that’s when we leave. The park allows campfires until 10pm, which is a perfect amount of time for some fun on a weeknight. We feel that it is a real privilege to set up campfires in Dufferin Grove Park, so we will be quiet-ish and respectful and clean up after ourselves. Please take a look at the Friends of Dufferin Grove Park website, and check out some of the wonderful community building things that are happening there. Come one, come all!
