The very limited Brompton Black Edition Superlight Bikes are back again for 2022. Featuring a number of key components in black rather than the usual silver, they were developed after years of public requests, with city nightlife as their inspiration. The Superlight models feature a titanium front fork and rear triangle in addition to some part swaps to make this bike 1.62 lbs lighter than an equivalent standard Brompton.  

The Brompton C Line Explore Black Edition Superlight folding bike is the classic Brompton people have known and loved for years! It’s the most customizable bike in Brompton’s lineup and the chromoly steel frame is finished in timeless Turkish Green. Titanium front fork and rear triangle (painted black to match the rest of the bike) add versatility and riding comfort while keeping the weight down.

As the most versatile option, the Explore model uses the 3-speed Sturmey Archer BWR hub combined with a 2-speed shifter for a combined 6 speeds. The wider gear ratio is designed to get you up the steepest hills and speeding along the flat open roads. Schwalbe Marathon Racer tires provide a zippy ride and a Front Carrier Block lets you customize your bike with a wide range of Brompton bags. This model is our most popular due to its adaptability and is a favourite of world travellers. 

This bike uses the High Handlebar, which is Brompton’s tallest handlebar and is perfect for folks who are quite tall or average-height riders who want a bike that is remarkably upright. Fenders keep you and your bike looking presentable and make entry to shops, museums, and theatres a lot easier as a result.  A built-in dynamo-powered lighting system gives you fuss-free visibility day and night. The bike is fitted with either Standard, Extended or Telescopic seatposts depending on your height, and comes standard with a Fizik R7 saddle.  

An optional aluminum rear rack allows you to carry extra luggage on the back while touring, or if you need to haul something too large to fit in a front bag. The four wheels make the bike considerably more stable when using it in “rolling transport mode” or storing it away folded.
