SECURITY OPTIONS

It's a tough world out there and to battle it, you need to know your enemy. The large majority of thieves aren't looking for good bikes; they're looking for bad locks. A recent McGill study showed that most bicycle theft is constituted by low-reward in exchange for low-risk (you can read more about this here). Cable locks are cut with cable-cutters and cheap U-locks are bent open with crowbars. Here are the locks you need to keep your bike secure!

CARRYING STUFF OPTION ONE: THE RACKTIME SYSTEM

Racktime is a German company that makes a wide series of baskets and bags that clip into the Racktime rack. That means you can clip your basket off, take it inside for a grocery shop, and click it right back on for the ride home! The other great thing about Racktime is that the racks use an EU Standard mounting plate for rear lights, so you can mount a permanent (read: theft proof) rear light and not have to worry anymore about thieves!
