DEVINCI CARTIER
Urban Discoverer
There are few other bikes like the Cartier. To the urban commuter it might be the perfect balance of daily reliability and weekend exploration. Named after the explorer, Jacques Cartier, this bike was a collaboration of Devinci and Curbside Cycle! It's a new world city bike that opens new horizons.
THE CITY IS YOUR PLAYGROUND
The Cartier was conceived in collaboration with Devinci and Curbside Cycle to design a city bike that elaborated Devinci's core commitment to city cyclist - while keeping the Devinci high-performance DNA acutely present. To the urban cyclist who treats the city as their daily and weekend playground, the Cartier is a high acceleration, curb-hopping machine that balances performance and reliability perfectly. Whether its midnight explorations on unknown streets, weekend trips to far away coffee shops, or adding fun to your daily commute, the Cartier charts new paths.

If you're shopping for a bike like the Cartier you may find there's nothing quite like it. That's because most bike companies don't really think city bikes are all that interesting. So, why not look to Quebec, where Devinci and Cannondale duke it out? Historically, these are the two leaders in aluminum bicycle manufacturing. The difference? Cannondale is busy making concept bikes that are definitely cool on concept, while Devinci makes bikes that fit within a mature user experience environment.

Once again, we compare Devinci and Cannondale - two amazing companies that were the world's first production aluminum bike makers (and both Quebecois!). But we're left asking, do these bikes really compare? While both have much in common spec wise, the 650B (27.5") wheels on the Cartier represent a more real-world, city-first philosophy.

DEVINCI CARTIER VS DEVINCI HEX DEORE

We find a lot of customers get stuck between the Devinci Cartier and the Hex Deore. Why? Because they both have a simple 1x drivetrain, both have disc brakes, and both seem cut out for urban riding. The difference? The Hex Deore may not be as punchy as the Cartier but it's speedier over longer distances and it's perfect if you take recreational distance seriously but don't want the complication of added gears.

ACCESSORIES WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Your Cartier is ready for the streets but make sure to protect it and yourself! Protect your bike and wheels from thieves with a quality lock and wheel skewers. Make sure your protected during the night with a good set of lights (required by law... and a bell is too!). Protect your bike from falling with a good kickstand and protect your clothing from excessive laundry with a good set of fenders. Need to carry stuff? Save yourself a sweaty back by carrying stuff on a rear rack! These are the items that work perfectly on your Cartier.

"Before we imported European bikes, we relied on hybrids as city bikes. Alas, very few were designed for the city. Devinci hybrids take city-cycling as seriously as they do recreational escapes. Behind each Devinci is a designer who pushes high-performance engineering without forgetting the reality of potholes or winter. Devinci's hold up."

ABOUT DEVINCI
Quebec may be the most European of Canada's provinces, and like Europe, they are made about cycling. Want proof? Take a look at their infrastructure.
Consider Montreal, the first major city to develop bicycle infrastructure back in the 1980's. Or, consider Le Route Verte, North America's largest network of dedicated cycling paths, now in excess of 5000km. That means an average Montrealer can ride their bike to work in summer or winter, ride the same bike on the weekend to escape outside of the city, or take the same bike and follow a path on a week long tour. This riding culture is the design context of the Devinci brand, it's DNA. It's what makes their bikes better.
That design context is what sets Devinci apart. While most of the bike industry builds the same commodity and competes on price, Devinci builds a user experience that is strong on breadth and depth. These are bikes of substance that take potholes and winter as seriously as they do a cottage country commute. These are bikes with soul.
