It's a tough world out there and to battle it, it's always good to know your enemy. Truth is, most bad guys out there aren't looking for good bikes; they're looking for bad locks. A recent McGill study showed that most bicycle theft is constituted by low-reward in exchange for low-risk (you can read more about this here). About 90% of street theft is related to inexpensive street drugs. Cable locks are cut with cable-cutters and cheap U-locks are bent open with crowbars. Higher risk attacks with grinders are extremely rare. Here are the locks you need to keep your bike secure.
