The ergonomic shape with carefully-placed foam on a wide base evenly distributes pressure, while an ergonomic cut-out prevents perineum discomfort and numbness. Silicone edges provide less friction when pedalling and a narrow nose doesn't get in the way when you're going for that KOM on Strava.
